QDVC is the leader of a joint-venture comprising the local Al Darwish Engineering and the Korean GS Engineering & Contracting, having Atkins as Lead Designer and Hyder Consulting for delivering world class design to our Client.
The scope of Red Line South contract comprises the design and construction of the underground works below central Doha, including 5 underground stations, between the Msheireb Underground Station and the New Doha International Airport and incorporates 5 switchboxes and 4 underground emergency exits.
This package will approximately comprise 32 km of tunnels at an average depth of 25 meters below ground level utilizing five tunnel boring machines.
The RLS-JV is committed to using world class and innovative safety, quality, technical, commercial and project management techniques in delivering the Red Line South project to the Client on time, to quality and within budget with safety being the utmost priority in the project execution phases.
Once operational, the metro will provide a safe, good quality and sustainable mode of transportation for residents and visitors and will also reduce pollution and the existing traffic on Doha's roads.
